Serenity was the owner of the Serenity and Chaos Trading Company, and captain of the ship Charybdis. She was a fair captain and, in her own estimation, a good leader. Her crew were (mostly) competent and faithful, and despite having a legitimate business to run, sometimes.. every now and then, there was a jewel there upon the ocean that was just too shiny, too tempting not to pluck.

This temptation had garnered her a reputation with the superpowers of the nautical world as something of a danger. The mistress of the waves, the Sea Siren, they called her.. just because, on occasion, she'd lulled a man into a false sense of security and either taken his ship, his goods or his life. Really, it was quite unfair.

It seemed that being a wanted woman in the port was a little more dangerous than she'd initially thought, and so after a few rounds with officers, guards and other local authorities, she'd taken to hiding her appearance with men's clothing, which made her look more like a young boy than a man.. well.. maybe a very short man.
